English and Literature at LCHS
Liberty has achieved among the highest reading and writing scores in the entire State of Colorado.
In fact, in multiple categories, standardized tests administered statewide by the Colorado Department of Education have determined Liberty to be the state’s top performing school.
As a classical, liberal-arts institution, Liberty Common High School promotes a deep appreciation for the written and spoken word, a mastery of English and exposure to the world’s greatest books. Students at Liberty are taught to read for meaning from the richest pages of Western literature.
Liberty’s English Department offers courses on British Literature, British Authors, Speech, Western Literature, American Literature, Composition, Technical Writing, Journalism and Debate.
The instructors at LCHS are themselves, true scholars in every sense. Their experiences in classrooms are considerable; as are their accomplishments in the private sector. Students arrive at a deep understanding of the human condition, emotion, virtue and moral consequence through the readings, classroom discussions and examinations handed down from the expert faculty of LCHS.
